All students participating in the Greater Victoria School
District #61 Continuing Education Program are expected
to adhere to the following, whether on the school
grounds, traveling to and from school, or participating
in school activities at different locations.
• Behave in a manner which demonstrates mutual respect and an understading
of the rights and responsibilities of others.
• Attend classes regularly. If attendance becomes a concern, students may be
removed from the class register.
• Refrain from any behaviours which endanger or threaten the safety and security
of students and staff:
“A threat, either written or verbal, made by a student and considered
serious by the Administration, and which is directed towards any
student or employee, shall lead to disciplinary action.”
(District Policy #5131.9)
• Not be under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other illegal substances; or must
not possess a weapon(s) on the school property or at school activities. Should a
student do so, action according to District Policy #5131.3 will be applied.
A breach of these last two items will result in a suspension
from the Continuing Education Program.
The Bylaw and Law is now
No Smoking anywhere on the school property.
• Visitors are not allowed on the school premises without prior approval from
the administration.
• All visitor requests for contact with a student during class hours must be directed
to an administrative officer.
• All Continuing Education students who wish to visit other schools must obtain that
school’s approval prior to visiting.
Where inappropriate behaviour is exhibited, actions will be taken under the authority of the School Act and the
Policies and Regulations of the Greater Victoria School Board. Any student who wishes to view the complete
Policies and Regulations binders of the Greater Victoria School Board can do so at the office.
