  Student Code Of Conduct

All students participating in the Greater Victoria School District #61 Continuing Education Program are expected to adhere to the following, whether on the school grounds, traveling to and from school, or participating in school activities at different locations.
   All Students Must

    • Behave in a manner which demonstrates mutual respect and an understading
of the rights and responsibilities of others.

    • Attend classes regularly. If attendance becomes a concern, students may be
       removed from the class register.

    • Refrain from any behaviours which endanger or threaten the safety and security
       of students and staff:

“A threat, either written or verbal, made by a student and considered
serious by the Administration, and which is directed towards any
student or employee, shall lead to disciplinary action.”

           (District Policy #5131.9)

    • Not be under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other illegal substances; or must
not possess a weapon(s) on the school property or at school activities. Should a
student do so, action according to District Policy #5131.3 will be applied.

A breach of these last two items will result in a suspension
              from the Continuing Education Program.

   Smoking Prohibition

The Bylaw and Law is now No Smoking anywhere on the school property.
   Visitors

    • Visitors are not allowed on the school premises without prior approval from
       the administration.

    • All visitor requests for contact with a student during class hours must be directed
       to an administrative officer.

    • All Continuing Education students who wish to visit other schools must obtain that
       school’s approval prior to visiting.
   Summary

Where inappropriate behaviour is exhibited, actions will be taken under the authority of the School Act and the Policies and Regulations of the Greater Victoria School Board. Any student who wishes to view the complete Policies and Regulations binders of the Greater Victoria School Board can do so at the office.
