Criteria for this scholarship are the following: • Academic excellence in at least four (4) Grade 12 courses (minimum B average) • Graduating Grade 12 student enrolled in Greater Victoria Continuing Education Program • Demonstrated citizenship in school and/or commitment to process of education • Financial need • Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary institution Note: Students cannot be in receipt of another major award. Value: $500.00 (one recipient)

The Greater Victoria School District Scholarship and Awards Committee administers these awards. The purpose of these awards is to acknowledge excellence in fields other than academic. Students who are concentrating their studies in a career area such as Business Education, Technology Education, Home Economics, Interdisciplinary Studies, or Visual or Performing Arts are eligible to apply for district awards. Students must apply directly to their local District Scholarship Bursary Committee.
This entrance award of $5,000 recognizes the top allround grade 12 student in each of 15 college regions in BC. The Principal of each BC Secondary School nominates one grade 12 student for the award.
All students writing provincial exams will automatically be considered for scholarships.
Awards Administered and Awarded by the Greater Victoria School District There are 14 scholarships administered by the Greater Victoria School District Scholarship and Bursary Committee on the basis of provincial Scholarship Examinations and other criteria set by the donor. They are only available to students attending Greater Victoria School District Schools. Continuing Education students qualify for these.
The Adult Educators’ Provincial Specialists Association annually offers a bursary and a scholarship worth $500.00 each. Current and graduating students, studying full or part time in a school district adult education program are eligible for the awards. Applications should include: • A completed application form • A statement of goals submitted by the applicant • A letter of recommendation • Indication of academic achievement, evidenced by copies of transcripts or a statement of progress, and, for bursary applicants, a statement of financial need submitted by the student, or by a teacher on behalf of the student |
